WORKSHOP: NUTRITION & AYURVEDIC FOOD - health through food
Ayurveda, the ancient healing art of India, teaches that food plays an essential part in one's health and sense of well-being and cooking the ayurvedic way has diverse mind/body benefits. The Art of Living (AOL) Ayurvedic Nutrition course contents:
- Information about Ayurveda
- Preparation of delicious food in a healthy way
- How to deal with health problems through food
- Demonstration of correct food preparation techniques
- Diet-plan according to body constitution

- Recipe-book and home remedies
- Personal Counseling
The teacher is Kaushani Desai from India, she has been teaching the AOL Ayurvedic Nutrition course since the beginning of the course. She has a degree in food and nutrition from SNDT University, Mumbai and is also the author of several books on ayurvedic cooking. Kaushani has conducted many AOL Ayurvedic Nutrition courses in India, Pakistan and the Middle East.
Kaushani Desai is now coming to Africa, she teaches in South Africa (Joburg, Cape Town and Durban), Zimbabwe, Botswana and Kenya (Nairobi). We are very delighted to have the opportunity that she wants to come for a workshop to Lamu.
We specially designed a week around this workshop to combine acquiring knowledge on food, and learn how to prepare healthy soups, salads, deserts, curries, drinks etc, relaxing the body and spending a wonderful time on Lamu island with its pristine beach, historical town and Swahili culture.
